Being Strong Means To See Yourself In The Most Favorable Light You Can Imagine.
Each morning before I meditate I draw an oracle card. This morning I used Doreen Virtue’s Goddess Guidance Deck and drew Sekhmet The Egyptian goddess whose message is to be strong. The message on the card reads you are stronger than you think you are and your strength assures a happy outcome.
What does being strong mean to you?
How does it make you feel?
When you act strong you can feel strong. or put another way you can put yourself into a strong positive state by how you choose to be.
It can mean to stand out from the crowd. As Hans F Hansen says:
“It takes nothing to join the crowd, it takes everything to stand alone.”
Can you think of a time when you have taken the easy way out the popular way and deep down your heart is whispering “No Suzie” that was not the path for you to choose! Usually then it’s too late.:) Or it might be the other way around, when you were stopped by fear, or should I say you allowed fear to stop you.
My example of this was choosing not to jump off a flying fox many years ago. ( yes I still remember it!) and getting an award for courage and being strong. I was the only person mot to jump! I have often wondered, more than once, if that has stopped me moving forward.
In this week’s Suzie TV we explore the choice of being strong and how it can make us feel

Want to catch up on the BEach Inspirations I have done so far: Be Be You, Be Asking,Be Brave, Be Creative, Be Bold, Be Clear Be Dreaming, Be Enough Be Forgiving To Be Fabulous Be Grateful Be Hopeful Be Intuitive Be Joy Be Kind Be Love Be Magical Be Miraculous, Be Listening Be Big, Be Finishing
I loved this post. I’ve recently realised that there is enormous strength and courage in asking for help which I did last week for the first time. I had just a huge emotional release because I had the strength to honor my worth. xx
I am glad that you are getting better, Suzie! To me, being strong means being true to yourself (even if it means saying no) and listening to your heart whispers, just like you said! I was strong this year when I quit an organization that I have been a crucial part of for nearly 30 years. I just knew it was not helping me and I was not being of any real help, either. I am sure that I really upset a lot of people I love, but I had wanted to quit for several years and I finally did it! Love to you, Suzie!
Thanks Suzie, it’s interesting how being willing to say no is often misconstrued as feeling afraid and NOT doing it anyway.
I remember years ago being at a seminar where everyone had to bring $100 bill. At some point we were all given candles and told to choose to burn the $100. Some people actually did seriously think about it and were about to begin burning before they were stopped. We were asked to rethink our views about money.
Don’t ask if I was a money burner!!!!
Inspiring, Suzie. I love the idea of listing the things that make us feel strong. That’s not something I would ordinarily do. Can’t wait to try it. Can I also add that you look and sound like you’re feeling strong right now. That’s wonderful. I’m celebrating with you.
Thanks Susan,
yes I am feeling stronger- Des commented on that at the beach this morning. Somehow the last week has been a turning point and the year ahead is looking very positive
I love that you are celebrating with me
Love and peace

Hello Suzie,
I do appreciate this post. The concept of “be strong” has been misunderstood for so long in our culture. So often it is only defined in turns of bravado or not showing or having weakness or fear.. But, your writing reminds us that to be truly strong, one must be wiling to embrace all of who they are – including those parts that are less than perfect. -Peace & Blessings!, Phyllis
Thank you Phyllis for your comment that has me smiling. Being strong is a good value and quality to embrace and as you say it is often misunderstood

Suzie, great article, and what popped out at me bigger and bolder than the rest was “Say No.”
Oy I am bad at that.
I said No today when fear wanted me to say Yes. It was hard.
But the sane and healthy part of me is so relieved I didn’t sign up for one more big $1,000 commitment.
Thanks for sharing your strength!

Amazing how Fear has us saying yes!
