It’s World Kindness Week:

“When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace.”- The 14th Dalai Lama (1935)

There are many ways we can show kindness in the world and often it it good to stop and ask if you are being kind to YOU, yes YOU. We need to balance out giving and receiving.

Today I am sharing several ways you can participate in Kindness, plus  resources to give you ideas for different ways you can share kindness daily.

Mari-Lyn Harris from Heart@Work has put a wonderful book together for World Kindness Week. This isa Compilation of kindness stories and experiences from eleven authors to encourage and inspire!  All of the profits from the sale of Kindness@work are going to Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief Fund. This is a steal at $.96 and there are 2 bonus when you buy this so head on over to Kindness@Work and support this great cause.

Act of KindndessKindness can be contagious and can change lives my friend Heather Bestel aka The Feel Good Fairy says. Heather is on a mission to make Random Acts of Kindness a daily occurrence and a way of life. Heather has set up a Kindness challenge for November which coincides with World Kindness Week this week. Yesterday was World Kindness Day.

You can join in anytime this month you just need 2 things:

Firstly – A willingness to reach out to others and spread happiness.

Secondly – (and this is optional) a journal or book to record your daily acts of kindness. You are also invited to share them on our facebook page.

Last year my friend Alex Blackwell  put together A Manifesto for Making Kindness a Daily Habit.which has 132 ideas from 29 bloggers which you can read about at Kinddness is and read the 6 ideas I contributed to the manifesto.

Still need more ideas? You will find 273 Kindness ideas at Random Acts of Kindness

What will you do today as part of making kindness a daily habit?

With gratitude and in abundance always
Namaste

  1. Hi Jean,
No I haven’t read the Kindness Conspiracy- but I do know that I became more aware of kindness form following Heather’s Month of Kindness- o also noticed more kindness from others

  2. Random acts of kindness are the best type of love for the universe. My Nana used to always say: you never who is an angel – make sure you help everyone you can, every day.

  3. Didn’t realize it was Kindess Week. I had never thought of journaling acts of kindness. Its a nice idea.

    Have you read “Kindness Conspiracy”?
