Celebrating and Releasing 2014
This week I have picked up my 2015 Create Your Shining Year workbook with every intention of breezing through it!
Not to be, I kept getting stuck. on the celebrating and releasing 2014. Big avoidance.
“In the process of letting go you will lose many things from the past, but you will find yourself.”
As I was into being distracted I dropped over to The Academy group on facebook. I got involved in a discussion on letting go and that brought up for me the cord cutting process that I had forgotten about.
I learned this process from trainings I did with Doreen Virtue and Brandon Bays. This is a very powerful way of releasing negative energy, forgiving another person, forgiving yourself if you find you are beating up on you as you look back on the goals you set for 2014. You get the picture?
That was me I discovered I was giving myself a hard time for not following through on my goals and dreams. I ranted onto this page as Heather suggested to me, might be a great place to start. Mind you Leonie does says to fill out the parts that sing to you. I forgot that thinking I had to fill in everything! Sometimes i back myself into a corner unecessarily
I then wrote some notes for myself on cutting the ties that bind!
I have a simple process I used in a meditation this morning at the beach which I will share with you on video. I have outlined the steps below.
- First make a list of what you need to release to become clear as you step into 2015. This might be a person, project, situation that needs to be released
- Visualise this connection
- Acknowledge your feelings: anger, frustration, sadness, fear. lack………..
- Now see the cord- make it your favorite color and see it connecting from your heart to the other person…….
- Now see a magic golden pair of scizzors dropping into your hand and cut the cord. As you cut the cord see it bouncing back to the other person/ object with a little parcel of love. If you can’d do that then you really haven’t let go. You have to send love and forgiveness if you don’t it means you are still holding onto your fear, anger, frustrations or resentment.
I feel much clearer about where I am heading and now I have let all those energy drainers float off into the sunset, I am ready to step into the new year with excitement , full of love and gratitude, ready to expand each day into abundance, creativity, success and love, inspiring you to do the same.

Beautiful Suzie, thank you…
there is so much to be accomplished, but how true we should start afresh this new year and release the ‘leftovers’ that could blight our new years progress and joy…
it is good to not carry the baggage 🙂
Jacs
Happy New Year Jacs, thanks for your wonderful words on moving forward into 2015 xx
Great post and letting go meditation …
I have not made any resolutions in years .. and this year I don’t have any themes … I decided I’m just going to continue to step into me! Me might be a mess on certain days … and I am going to let that be OK. I am done trying to change me … and have decided to let the change Be Me!
Thanks for sharing! Big Hugs to You!
Thanks Ellie,
I like that let the change be me.
I thought I had a word! My word for the year is LOVE, CREATIVITY is my action that will bring a new wave of ABUNDANCE leading to FREEDOM in all aspects of my life.
Hugs back and look forward to catching up xx
I love that quote from Goldie Hawn. It’s so true! Thanks for being YOU Suzie, You are a gem!
Thanks Melissa, yes the quote delighted me as does your comment, my heart is smiling 🙂
What a marvelous process Suzie! I also discovered I was struggling to let go of 2014, mostly because (as usual) I crammed far too many goals on my list so even though I made good progress on my BIG rocks last year I still had way too many smaller tasks on the list so the last week of 2014 I made myself crazy trying to get as many of those done as possible rather than carry them over into the new year! It’s that darn “perfectionist” tendencies of mine! Thanks for the tips and inspiration. 🙂
Thank you Marty that is wonderful feedback from you. I am always inspired by your posts. I am drawing a line in the sand and moving forward. Some of my goals from 2014 will carry over to be completed and I have made that okay
We all have to release those perfectionist tendencies that stop us fully shining xx
Suzie, I do hope you’re feeling more ease in your body, and settled.
Your transparent truth is inspiring, as always. I’ve actually done this working you describe with physical cords. Of course you need a helper to bind the cords and then cut them. It was very very powerful.
May every hour and day of 2015 lead you where your heart wants to go.
Blessings!

Hi Sue
Thank you I love this: May every hour and day of 2015 lead you where your heart wants to go. I might put part of it on a vision board.
Yes the body is healing – I am being patient and resting. I have never done the process physically I can imagine it would be empowering

I so needed to hear about the idea of forgiving yourself and letting go of beating yourself up when you practice forgiveness! Your meditation is so visual, I absolutely love it. Thank you
Hi Shannon and thank you. You made my day especially as that is the first video I have done for a long while. Yes sometimes we find it more challenging to forgive ourselves, so having a simple tool in your kit helps Namaste
Good advice, as usual. I have a person and a situation I need to cut the cords to and will be following your visualization techniques so I can move forward to the new year with love and gratitude as you suggested. Thanks for the tip!
Hi Julie,
I am delighted that this simple exercise will help you, Happy New Year 🙂
