Be Shining: Is Your Inner Light Turned On?

Are You Shining, or Hiding Your Light?

Are you letting you light shine brightly for you and the world to see or are you hiding your light under a bushel?

As the moon shone on Wednesday evening and there was magical energy, I planned a Full Moon ritual to release those those feelings and thoughts that I allow to creep in sometimes that bring on the FUD factor.  I wrote down in my journal that I would do a full moon painting.  I had no idea what would emerge onto the paper when I started to paint last night at 9.13pm. I chose a soft blue that I washed over with a deep blue, some white and then layered it with purple. My brush was so full of paint that I brushed the excess onto a board that was at hand. That was how I come to have two moon paintings. The second painting having a deeper background and a heart shape. The gold was my next color choice, representing the new energies that are coming  and then the moon shining brightly.

After I had completed the paintings I went outside to look at the full moon and perfection was the word that came to me. I then lit a candle and brought out the paper that I had written the words and feelings I was wanting to release.  It was now time to clear away  what has been me holding back. This is an exercise I have done in different form over the years. Last night I chose to draw a red heart  to hold what I was releasing.  Then it was time to meditate, yes under the moonlight, read the words within the heart and then light the paper and release into the night sky.


Then as I went to sleep I asked for my dreams to be filled with my hearts desires.

When I woke this morning I felt light and thought what are some ways that I can continue let my light stay shining brightly?

Here are 7 ways that I know help me shine my light:  

 I meditate and ask my inner wisdom, my guides and my angels to help and guide me.

 I ask each morning how may I serve.

 I focus on what I really really want ~ my heart’s desire ~ what juices me and makes my heart sing.

 I do mirror exercises and say I love you Suzie.

 I smile ~ I wake up with a smile and I smile at the people I pass on my beach walk, at the shops etc. You do shine when you smile.

 I let go of the woulds, the coulds and shoulds and I am kind to ME

 I tap away any fears and doubts (Emotional Freedom Technique). I find this an empowering, quick way to shift negativity as well as a powerful healing tool that I used daily during my healing journey.

All these things raise my vibes and make me feel good. When we feel good we we shine and we step into our light.

Color Prescription 4: Green and The Heart Chakra

Working with The Color Green and The Heart  Chakra

Green is the color of energy and abundance, of nature, of apples and pears, of limes, of broccoli, kale, spinach, peas and beans, of balance and harmony, of growth and money, of jade and malachite  Green presents in so many shades and hews. As I look out my window I can count at least 20 varying shades and tones of green.

Green is the color of the fourth chakra, our heart chakra and love centre.  The heart chakra is related to our ability to love and is a source of compassion, kindness and affection. When our heart chakra is in balance and we are accepting of ourself and others, our self-esteem is healthy and our vibes are high: We Feel Good.

This post is part of a Color Prescription series I started over 2 years ago , just before I experienced the autoimmune disease that put me out of action with a total kidney failure. I had painted a series of paintings which you can see in the video and I have added some that I have painted since then.

I reflected back on stopping this series at the heart chakra: I did have a draft back in July 2011!  The message that I got back 2 years ago was that this journey for me was all about love, when I fractured my humerus in January 2012, it was in line with my heart chakra, as was my crush fracture. Seem the universe was making sure this time I slowed down enough to get the message!

I have had time to look closely at my own love path as well as observe others wanting to raise their love vibes.

Here are 7 ways I have found that help in opening the heart chakra:

 Be Love: love and accept you as you are NOW!

 Be KInd: watch the thoughts you think and the words you speak about yourself

 Love others unconditionally- this becomes easier the more we love ourselves and release any need to beat up on ourself:)

 Go out in nature, lay on the grass and watch the clouds drift by.

 Treat yourself- soak in a lavender bubble bath

 Breathe- deep breathing releases toxins and blocked energy

 Forgive yourself- try using Ho’oponopono and EFT. These are two tools I use daily

BE Trusting Of You And Your Intuition

Today’s BEach Inspiration: Be Trusting follows on from the last words I wrote here on Monday: It is time to step back and do some reflection and  go inside, listen and TRUST! 

Does trusting yourself and your intuition empower you?

The quote by Gisele suggests that, and my friend Michele does too, when saying NO was empowering not just for her but for others. This got  me reflecting about times when I don’t trust or  even forget to use my inner wisdom, my intuition.  I have become very conscious of my words and my thoughts and how they either empower or disempower me and how that can create FUD!.

I am great at tapping into and trusting my intuition sharing it with Des and helping others. I know that when I am quiet and still first thing each morning and when I am journaling and meditating I allow my intuition to the forefront.. I am aware that often as I get caught up in my day I can sometimes move forward blindly or get caught up in other people’s stories- yes I love reading and commenting on blogs and I know this can take my focus away from the task at hand. I need to fan more of the tiny. inner sparks of possibility!

Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement. ~Golda Meir

3 Things to do to learn to trust your intuition more?

  1. Firstly take time each day to be in stillness, start with 10 minutes morning and evening.  ( try 5 minutes if 10 seems daunting at first).Start with 3 deep breaths and feel yourself relax,then……
  2. Ask yourself the question: What does my inner wisdom want me to know today? Thoughts will come and go, like the wind let them fly away.
  3. Listen to what you body is telling you- it might be a feeling, a picture, a sound. Allow yourself to listen and trust. You might like to keep a journal beside you and jot down after the 5 minutes, any message you received. This will increase your trusting muscle. (PS I use Insight timer on my phone to keep track of the time.)

21 Day Love Challenge Day 21: Are You Loving You First Now?

So have you made friends with you over the past now more than 21 days? Are you your own best friend?

  • Has doing the mirror work  given you a more loving way of being towards yourself?

  • What about you are grateful for ?
  • What has changed that is significant?

Welcome to Day 21 of the  Love Challenge. If you’re only just catching up with us today go here first to find out what you need to do to get started.

You might have been wondering if this 21 day post was ever coming. If you follow me on facebook you will have read that I had a few challenges.  I am not normally drawn to things like mercury retrograde, only that week I had seen others have technical challenges they would not normally experience. :)


Part of me feels I have let you down as it is now EEK 31 days have passed since we started- maybe this was meant to be a 31 day challenge!  Yesterday I finally got the audio and video in sync. Yes there has been a little of that wonderful procrastination too, and at the same time I have been kind to me. There is a very positive side to this too:

“Believing in our hearts that who we are is enough is the key to a more satisfying and balanced life.”- Ellen Sue Stern

  • I do now believe I am enough. (This has been a limiting belief for me)
  • I feel an inner calm
  • I have learned that my receiving channel is closed to praise
  • I joyfully look in the mirror and say I love you and feel it, my heart smiles.
  • My patience with me had been further expended
  • I know there is more growing coming
  • I have many other discoveries I will be sharing as my self-love journey continues.

Now to conclude the challenge. I decided to record a chakra clearing meditation that would bring together the 21 days. I have set this to my beach photos and my chakra and heart paintings. The meditation is 15 minutes long. Relax and allow yourself to receive.
